OpenAI Launches Learning Accelerator in India with 500,000 ChatGPT Licenses
OpenAI has partnered with IIT Madras, AICTE, and the Ministry of Education to introduce the Learning Accelerator in India. As part of this initiative, 500,000 free ChatGPT licenses are being distributed to students and teachers. The program is designed to transform digital education in India by providing active tutoring, personalized learning assistance, and research opportunities through advanced AI tools.
Empowering Students with Study Mode
The initiative introduces a special “Study Mode” feature customized to the Indian curriculum. This mode allows students to receive contextual explanations, step-by-step problem solving, and subject-specific guidance. By using AI-powered support, learners can enhance their understanding of complex topics and approach exams with greater confidence.
Teacher Training and Academic Support
The Learning Accelerator places equal focus on empowering educators. Teachers who receive ChatGPT licenses will gain access to advanced teaching aids, lesson planning tools, and real-time classroom support. The program also includes training workshops to help educators effectively integrate AI-powered solutions into their teaching practices.
Driving Research and Innovation in Education
OpenAI’s collaboration will not only benefit students and teachers but also contribute to educational research. Dedicated research funds are being provided to encourage the use of AI in improving learning methodologies. With IIT Madras leading the academic partnership, the initiative aims to make India a global hub for AI-driven educational innovations.
